A Camping We Will Go

Yesterday I got the word every athletic trainer hopes for. The one thing that is so sweet and so satisfying that it makes me almost like my job..."All sports are cancelled due to the rain!!!" So I headed home and waited for Jeanie to finish up at work so we could head to the Taproom to meet the crew. One phone call later and I didn't even have to worry about driving as Jeanie's friend Rose was planning to pick us up. After downing a few Sly Rye Porters we (Jeanie, Rose, Thad, Old Greg and Dunsy) decide to roll to Pizza Perfect for some food. I guess Jeanie's over her "no pizza cause I puked from some bad frozen pizza" blues as she made the suggestion. After some good food and one Parmesan shaker incident we headed home. Great time as always hanging out with the crew.
Today, Jeanie headed to Edgar Evans State Park to spend the night camping with her mom in her new pop up camper. I'm riding the fast bike out tomorrow to meet them. After several Google map attempts to find the best route, I consulted Thad about a good route through his old stomping grounds. What he concocted would have surely had me wandering the back woods of TN for hours and more than likely ending up down in some crazy truckers well. Come on man...you know my sense of directions...I get lost every time I try to find my way home from my favorite bike shop. In the interest of self preservation, time and available daylight, I think I will stick with my Google maps version. Just in case though, I finally purchased a Gazetteer ("Why does it always happen to Me" observation of the day...Of course the entire route takes place on the border of about 6 pages) Should be about 98 miles one way and I'm planning the return trip on Sunday. Hopefully this will make up for the lack of riding for the last coupla weeks.

I Don't Get This Whole Blogger Thing

Sitting bored at work and parusing my normal cycling related blogs, I decided...eh, what the hell I'll give 'er a shot. If nothing else my Mom will be able to read and keep up the day to day duldrums of her favorite child (sorry Carrie and Matt). I will intend for this to be a cycling related blog, but will try to throw in some wiitty, banter from time to time and rest assured there will be plenty of complaining about my job going on. I'll make this one short so I can see what this whole blog thing looks like and see how I can tweek it to make it something that the masses will begging for more of.
